Speechless

You people just cannot fathom how much I love Miami Vice. The series was the epitome of everything cool and super and awesome back in the day when I was a kid. I’ve later also learned to appreciate the dark mood that was the general theme of the series. I love it in ways I simply cannot describe. It’s just something wonderful, overwhelming and strangely I always end up feeling like I could burst with the feeling of loneliness. But it’s all good. It’s like longing for something that I just can’t reach, but in a very purifying yet sad way.

I was a tad worried upon hearing they were making a film based on the series. But when I saw the film and heard the music that was chosen to be on the soundtrack, I was immediately back in those childhood days when everything was simple and safe, the enemy always came from the east, bad guys talked in a Soviet accent and I really wanted to live in Miami, because in there, the lights were always bright, yet the night was dark.

And Castillo didn’t know how to smile, because he felt the weight of the world on his shoulders.
